Allegation baseless, unfounded – Orogu

The Nasarawa State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Adamu Bako Ningha, and the Zonal secretary of the party, Hon. Francis Orogu have dismissed and described allegations that the party has endorsed a consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 as baseless, unfounded, bias and clandestine.
Reacting to a claim by a group they describe as unknown members, faceless poeople, the two leaders of the party while making clarification on the allegation of endorsement of a gubernatorial aspirant by party leaders, dissimised the allegation and called it baseless and unfounded.
On calls for disciplinary action to be taking against the zonal secretary of the party and others involved, Ningha confirmed that a meeting was held at Orogu’s residence, but explained that the meeting was organized by stakeholders from Nasarawa South and not by the party leadership adding that any endorsement made was the democratic right of the southern zone not that of the PDP.
“The PDP in Nasarawa State has not endorsed any aspirant. We are committed to internal democracy and ensuring all aspirants have a level playing field,” he said.
The state party chairman who defended the Zonal Secretary, stated that clearly that Prove did nothing wrong. for hosting the zonal stakeholders meeting in his house adding that the action of the zonal secretary was in the best interest of the zone and the party by extension.
“Hosting or attending a zonal meeting in your community is not a crime. PDP is home for all lovers of democracy. Leaving or staying is a right, but we welcome those willing to return.”
Also speaking while reacting to the allegation, Orogu described the allegation as “baseless and peddled by unknown party elements.” He reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and urged defectors to reconsider, saying
Both leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue over division, urging the party members to unite and strengthen the PDP ahead of 2027.
It would be recalled that a group known as Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP Forum, Nasarawa South, led by Jibrin Idris Ibrahim, had alleged that a meeting held on July 10 at the residence of the PDP North Central Zonal Secretary, Francis Orogu, was used to secretly endorse an aspirant—against party guidelines.
