2027: PDP vows to reclaim it’s mandate, moves to unite members

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), leading opposition party converged in Bauchi and reaffirmed its commitment towards uniting the party and make it stronger to demonstrate its political power as largest party in Africa and experience in overcoming challenges caused by some retrogressive individuals.

This affirmation was attested to by the Acting National Chairman of the Party, Ambassador Umar Damagun while speaking at the Northeast PDP Zonal Caucus Meeting in Bauchi where he said the Party is bigger than any individual and therefore assured members that the party remains committed and resolute despite the present internal crisis which is normal and would soon be history.

Damagun revealed that reconciliation moves are in the process over to foster unity and reduce divisions ahead of the upcoming National Convention.

Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammad of Bauchí State, who is also the Chairman of the PDP Governor’s Forum on behalf of the two PDP Governors in the zone Adamawa,Taraba and all other stakeholders, expressed confidence and hope in the party’s strength and therefore pledged the governors’ support in fortifying its structure as the most attractive party.

He expressed optimism that with the anger and hunger of the economic policies of the APC administration that turned Nigerians as slaves in their country, PDP will take over leadership of the country come 2027.

Earlier, the Northeast PDP Zonal Chairman, Rev. Emmanuel Bovoa appealed to Party members in the zone, the National Assembly from the zone and leadership to remain committed to the ideals of the PDP.

The former Governor of Gombe State Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwabo, Commended Governor Bala Muhammad for turning Bauchi State around and appreciated him for hosting the North East PDP Zonal caucus and reconciliation meeting which yelded result.

Senator Dankwabo also appreciated the role and contributions of the governors of Adamawa and Taraba towards ensuring peace, unity and the good name of the party, PDP, and urge them to continue working in harmony with Governor Mohammed and all party stakeholders to ensure that in 2027 all the six states in the zone become PDP governors.

TMSnews learnt that Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President , who was the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was conspicuously absent at the North East Zonal Caucus meeting in Bauchi.

The meeting had in attendance all the three PDP Governors including Bauchi State Bala Muhammad, Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas and Ahmad Umar Fintiri.

Senators and members of the House of Representative as well as members of the State House of Assemblies from the Zone also attended the meeting

TMSnews gathered that Atiku neither sent a representative nor tender apology for his absence at the meeting while other bigwigs who were not at the meeting were represented at the event.
