Ahead of 2027 general elections, stakeholders, party supporters other PDP faithful from the southern senatorial zone of the state have endorsed the 2023 governorship candidate of the party, Rt Hon. Emmanuel Davis Ombugadu as it’s sole candidate of the party for 2027.
Arising from an extra ordinary meeting of the critical stakeholders, members of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Nasarawa South Senatorial District held on Thursday 10th July, 2025 with the attendance cut across the LGA’s, stakeholders were unanimous in their resold to support Ombugadu in the forth coming governorship election.
It would be recalled that the movement was birthed a year ago aimed at consolidating on the hope for the liberation of Nasarawa State.
Speakers in a statement signed and made available to Journalists by the Grand Patron & Patron, Hon. Matthew Attah Akwe and
Elder Mark Ogbole, extensively explained reasons that informed their decision for endorsing Rt. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu as their most preferred candidate for the forthcoming General Elections.
The speakers opined that, their decision was baded on the acceptance, overwhelming support Ombugadu received in 2019/2023 as PDP Guber Candidate in Nasarawa state.
“His Excellency, Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu PhD by records and desire of the good people of Nasarawa State is the most credible, popular, marketable, sellable and acceptable in the state political landscape. Undoubtedly, Hon. David Ombugadu, “Mai Wanka Palapala” as he is foundly called, is seemingly the political household name in every nooks and cranics of Nasarawa State communities”, the stakeholders stated.
According to the stakeholders, “His unmatched political track records of performance during his Two Terms Tenure as the representative of the people of Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber notably in the areas of Health-NHIS Enrollment, Building of Clinics, Provision of Ambulances, Women Empowerment, Skill Acquisition Training on the Youths, rural/urban electrification projects and portable water supply was the basis of his name “Aiki Palapala”.
The statement, gave an assurance that as the build up to 2027 General Elections is gathering more momentum, the masses, the electorates of Nasarawa State who are eagerly waiting for the Good News, would be mobilize and galvanized to support Ombugadu.
The statement further read, “it is now unanimously sealed, stamped and officially affirmed that Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu PhD is the candidate to watch by the Nasarawa South Senatorial District PDP members therefore, calling him to contest for the number one seat in the state in confidence that the good people of the state got his back hundred percent.
“The unsworn Governor, His Excellency, Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu PhD will contest come 2027 until he recently broke the news that was greeted by wide spread jubilations, joy and happiness in the state”.
To us, it was a mission fulfilled, the right step in the right direction and indicator of placing a round pake in the round hole to usher in the Nasarawa State of our collective dreams”, the stakeholders declared.
Recalled that after a successful meeting of about 400 critical elders, women and youths, Alhaji Usman Attah moved a motion for the adoption of the candidature of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu PhD as the PDP Guber Candidate for the 2017 General Elections and was duly seconded by Chief Ambrose Agwale (JP) which was followed by a thunderous voice affirmation of the congress.
