Chairman Youth Vanguard for Peace, Social Justice and Good Governance, John Mandik has accused the acting Spokesperson of the plateau state Chapter of All Progressive Congress APC, Shittu Bamaiyi of lying against the governor of the, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the People’s Democratic party PDP and the people of plateau state.
Mandik in a statement personally signed and made available to Journalists in Jos monday, alleged that Bamaiyi’s baseless accusations against Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the people of Plateau State reflect nothing but a desperate attempt to sow division and spread hate.
“it is disheartening and utterly reprehensible to read the malicious and misleading press statement issued by the self-acclaimed Acting Spokesperson of the Plateau State chapter of the APC, Shittu Bamaiyi.
“While I am not an official spokesperson for Governor Mutfwang or the Plateau State Government, it is necessary to respond to this unwarranted attack. Shittu Bamaiyi’s divisive rhetoric reeks of bitterness, fueled by his inability to recover from the APC’s defeat in the 2023 governorship election”.
“His statement, dated November 16, 2024, is incoherent, devoid of substance, and designed to mislead the resilient people of Plateau State”, Mandik statement. added
GOVERNOR MUTFWANG’S STANCE ON DR. NENTAWE’S MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT:
“To set the record straight, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has consistently prioritized unity, progress, and collaboration for the benefit of Plateau State. When rumours and dissatisfaction surrounded Plateau’s ministerial appointment slot, the Governor acted with maturity and foresight”.
” On November 7, 2024, during a live interview on Rhythm 93.7 FM, he reassured Plateau citizens of President Tinubu’s intention to address the matter and called for calm. True to his word, a few weeks later, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe was appointed as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
“Governor Mutfwang not only welcomed this development but also demonstrated exemplary statesmanship by sending a personal congratulatory letter to Dr. Nentawe on October 30, 2024. In the letter, the Governor wrote:
“My dear brother, I received your nomination, screening, and appointment as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction with profound joy. I and the people of Plateau State are grateful to God Almighty and Mr. President for finding you worthy of this privilege and honor. I urge you to think Nigeria, work for Nigeria, and make Plateau proud. Be assured of my prayers and support as you embark on this important journey.”
“Additionally, the Governor directed the issuance of a public statement through his Director of Press and Public Affairs to further celebrate Dr. Nentawe’s appointment. The statement, which is in the public domain, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing Plateau State’s potential and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal and state governments for the welfare of Plateau citizens.
GOVERNOR MUTFWANG’S ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER:
According to Mandik, ” Governor Mutfwang’s efforts to foster peace and unity are unmatched. Despite being out of the country on official duties, he ensured that notable representatives from his administration, including Yari Kumchi, attended the reception for Dr. Nentawe following his swearing-in. These actions highlight the Governor’s dedication to inclusivity and collaboration, even with political opponents.
“In stark contrast, it is worth asking whether Dr. Nentawe extended similar courtesy or congratulations to Governor Mutfwang upon his election. The answer is obvious to the people of Plateau”,
“Governor Mutfwang’s magnanimity and focus on governance are a testament to his commitment to uniting Plateau people and delivering impactful leadership” Mandik stated.
SHITTU BAMAIYI’S DIVISIVE TACTICS WILL NOT SUCCEED:
“The lies and hate speech propagated by Shittu Bamaiyi and the APC in Plateau State will not undermine the trust and confidence Plateau citizens have in Governor Mutfwang. The Governor has promised transformational leadership, and he continues to deliver through bold policies and programs that prioritize the collective good.
“Governor Mutfwang’s godly disposition and inclusive approach to governance remain evident in his handling of critics and detractors. His focus on rebuilding Plateau State and fostering unity is unwavering. The people of Plateau will not be misled by the divisive antics of those who thrive on spreading falsehoods.
“In conclusion, Shittu Bamaiyi’s baseless accusations and lies against Governor Mutfwang, the PDP, and Plateau citizens are a failed attempt to distract from the Governor’s achievements. Plateau people stand firmly with Governor Mutfwang in his mission to rebuild and unite the state for a brighter future”, the statement declared.
