The plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang of.Plateau State has admonished civil servants in the state to effectively and efficiently drive government policies and programmes by ensuring professionalism.
Governor Mutfwang who gave the charge while swearing in the Chairman and members of the Plateau State Civil Service Commission, emphasized the importance of the Civil Service in driving government policies and programs, and called on the commission to ensure professionalism, integrity, and excellence.
The governor who described the civil service as the drive force of any state,them to provide visionary leadership and direction to the Civil Service., further urged commitment, dedication and loyalty in the discharge of the statutory engagement.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo, Mutfwang identified absenteeism and dereliction of duty as major challenges facing the Civil Service, and tasked the commission to establish robust mechanisms to monitor attendance and assess performance.
He also urged the commission to spearhead reforms aimed at modernizing the Civil Service, embrace technology, and foster a culture of innovation.
TMSnews gathered that With the new commission in place, Governor Mutfwang also expressed confidence that the Civil Service would be repositioned to deliver effective and efficient services to the people of Plateau State.
Chairman of the Commission, Paul Wai, stated that they would build on the great strides the government has achieved in building a robust and efficient workforce in the state.
Other committee members of the Commission are Francis Bot, Martina Dakur, Ishaya Ilpiri and Esther Danagei.
