Gambo Adamu has been sentenced to death by hanging by a high court sitting in Akwanga, Nasarawa State
A High Court sitting in Akwanga has sentenced Gambo Adamu is found guilty for the murder of Hassan Ahmed, whose organs were harvested in the Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
Delivering judgment on the matter Tuesday, Justice Mustapha Ramat said Adamu was found guilty of committing the crime which he described Adamu’s actions as heinous.
Reacting after the judgment, the Nasarawa state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, described the landmark judgement as a victory for justice and a deterrent to intending criminal in the state.
“This judgment serves as a warning to anyone contemplating such nefarious activities. The heinous nature of the crime justified the punishment,” Dr Magaji stated.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice in the state, emphasizing the importance of the judgment in curbing criminal tendencies.
The Attorney-General, since assuming office, has been lauded for his efforts in reforming the justice system, combating human rights violations, and tackling terrorism in Nasarawa State.
Meanwhile, residents of the state and other stakeholders who reacted applauded the judgement which the termed a significant landmark judgement that will uphold justice and institutionalized law and order in the state.
