The FTC minister, Nyesom Wike’s Son, Jordan, is reportedly said to have received $2.85 Billion in Abuja Land from Father’s Office
In one of the boldest land scandals in recent history, our correspondent gathered that Jordan Wike, the 25-year-old son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, was allocated at least 1,740 hectares of land in Abuja valued at about $2.85 billion by his father’s office.
It is learnt that many of the plots, taken from original owners under questionable claims of non-compliance, were transferred to Jordan through a shell company, Jordan Farms and Estates Ltd. This mirrors a previous Gazette report which revealed that his younger brother, Joaquin Wike, received 2,082 hectares worth $3.6 billion.
Combined, the Wike brothers now control almost 3,822 hectares of prime FCT land, with a total estimated value of $6.45 billion.
Report has it that both shell firms, Jordan Farms and Joaq Farms were registered on the same day and share an address in Wuse II linked to Minister Wike. Land was reportedly allocated in choice areas including Maitama, Guzape, Garki, Bwari, and Sheretti Cheche.
In one striking example, a statutory fee of N807 million for land in Sheretti Cheche was cut to N100 million with only N10 million reportedly paid.
Investigation carried out allegedly linkes between Wike and two other shell firms Hyper Communications Ltd and Hyper Station Ltd tied to the same address. Land records, WhatsApp messages, and internal memos suggest Wike personally oversaw many of these allocations.
Though Wike’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, our corresopondent learnt denied any wrongdoing and claimed coincidence, pick-up logs and internal correspondence appear to contradict his defense.
It is understood that a senior FCT officials had warn the scandal may exceed ab¥ses under previous ministers. While President Tinubu has reportedly ordered a probe, no public update has been given.
Reports also had it that Anti-corruption agencies have said they are monitoring the situation, but may not act while Wike is still in the office as minister
