The Vice Chancellor of the first Nasarawa State indegenous Phoenix university, professor Abdullahi Bala has vowed to make the institution a centre of excellence and academic reference centre of in the country.

Speaking at a pre -matriculation press briefing at the institution’s Senate building of the institution Thursday to herald the activities lining up for the forthcoming matriculation, prof. Bala explained that the university was allocated an admission quota of 500 for the 2024/2025 academic session.

According to him, out of three hundred and forty two candidates that applied for admission into the university, about two hundred and sixty met all the requisites criteria for admission.and were admitted accordingly.

He said 38 students were admitted into the faculty of computing, 32 into the faculty of applied science and agriculture, 52 students into the faculty of social science and management science, hence the commencement of academic activities in the university.

Prof. Abdullahi Bala was quick to appreciate governor Abdullahi Sule’s gesture for awarding scholarship to 92 indigenous students across the 13 local government areas of the state,

He further revealed that the governor has equally awarded contract for the reconstruction of 24-KM portion of the Kokona Agwada road to easy free movement of students and the host community.

The vice Chancellor also announced the first investiture of Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi as the Chancellor of the institution which he attributed to exemplary leadership and humanitarian dispensation in the society. and advancement of education especiallyUniversity, Agwada.

He then applauded his deep gratitude to the university’s Founder, visitor and chairman of the Board of Trustees, former senator representing Nasarawa West at the national assembly, Abdullahi Adamu for his staunch leadership, unflinching support and relentless show of concern for the progress of the institution.

The vice Chancellor equally appreciated pro-chancellor, members of Boat and Governing council as well as management for their support.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Sule has awarded scholarship to 92 students of Phoenix University, Agwada in Kokona local government area of the state.
