Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar Monday led a delegation to meet with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Atiku was accompanied by former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, former governor of Sokoto state, Senator Aminu Tambuwal
The agenda of the meeting was not made known, but TMSnews gathered that the opposition politicians meeting is to strategize on how to send the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) packing in the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku, who was the deputy president to Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, has been seeking the presidency for over three decades. He came second in the 2023 presidential election, losing to President Bola Tinubu of the APC.
It was not however very clear whether the top politicians are at the verge of realignment in view of the leadership crisis rocking the opposition party PDP.
