Ban on scavengers, refuse disposal still enforce in C’River – Govt

The Government of Cross River State has restated its position on regulations guiding refuse disposal in the state, especially within the Calabar metropolis.

A release made available by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Ekpenyong Akiba, noted that 6pm to 10pm everyday remains the period for refuse disposal, adding that enforcement agents have been recruited and will be stationed at strategic refuse points to bring defaulters to book.

Similarly, the government a placed a total ban on all refuse scavengers, as their activities, according to the government, pose serious security concerns for citizens.

The government warned perpetrators to desist forthwith as security agents have been mandated to arrest and prosecute perpetrators.
