The Executive Secretary of Benue State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmadu Alhassan said the board has made adequate preparations for intending pilgrims from the state travelling to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj.
Speaking to newsmen in Makurdi on Thursday, Alhassan said proper arrangements have been made for the transportation, accommodation and feeding of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The ES appreciated the state Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia, for his support. He recalled that in 2024, the Governor also sponsored some Muslims from the state to perform the pilgrimage.
“This year, we hope he will do more anytime our request is pencilled to him. In spite of been a priest, he has been of tremendous help and assistance to Muslims in Benue State. We are happy seeing Benue transform in all aspects.”
He urged Muslims in the state to use the holy month of Ramadan to promote peace, patience, sacrifice and service to humanity, which are the true essence of Islam.
He however, explained that March 15, was the deadline for complete payment of payment of Hajj fare and advised all those intending to participate in the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia to hasten and complete the payment.
Alhassan disclosed that, so far, 46 Muslims have paid the full fare for the 2025 pilgrimage from the state.
