Rejects Fraudulent Postponement Request from Expelled Impostors Abdulrahman and Anyanwu on Ekiti Gubernatorial Primaries.
In a resounding endorsement of democratic order and party legitimacy, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized the authentic National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) as the sole valid leadership.
INEC has categorically rejected a spurious letter from expelled claimants of Acting National Chairman of the Party, Mohammed Abdulrahman and Samuel Anyanwu, who sought to unlawfully postpone the Ekiti State gubernatorial primaries, thereby safeguarding the electoral timeline and exposing the duo’s desperate bid to sabotage Nigeria’s opposition vanguard.
The INEC affirmation underscores the electoral body’s commitment to constitutional fidelity, dismissing the November 6, 2025, letter signed by the illegitimate Abdulrahman, self-proclaimed Acting National Chairman—and Anyanwu, the ousted National Secretary, who cited fabricated “logistics constraints” to derail the November 8 primaries.
That fraudulent correspondence, addressed to INEC has been nullified, with INEC affirming that only communications from National Chairman and National Secretary NWC hold weight.
INEC’s swift action aligns with its prior acknowledgments of PDP’s disciplinary measures, including the suspensions of Anyanwu, Abdulrahman, and accomplices on November 1, 2025, for anti-party conduct under Sections 57(3), 58(1)(a)(b)(c)(h), and 59(1) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
These were ratified at the party’s National Convention in Ibadan on November 15, 2025, where Turaki was elected Chairman, and the saboteurs including Anyanwu, Abdulrahman, Nyesom Wike, and Ayo Fayose, faced outright expulsion for grievous breaches, such as inciting anti-party activities, parallel structures and court manipulations to fracture the party.
