The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA) has disclosed plans to launch its new youth empowerment initiative, target the People First Youth Local Entrepreneurship and Acceleration Programme (YOU-LEAP).
This transformative programme is designed to equip 5,000 young people across the state with in-demand digital, technological, and artisanal skills outlook
According to the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of CRSMEDA, Great Ogban, the YOU-LEAP programme is fashioned to empower youths in both urban and rural areas to become the architects of their own economic destinies.
“This is more than a programme; it’s a strategic initiative to build a sustainable future for our state by investing in its most valuable asset—our youth,”
The DG, CEO stated during a test run of the program’mes fashion and styling segment. The initial phase will focus on five key areas: Fashion and Styling, Welding and Fabrication, Tiling, Information Communication Technology (ICT), and Video Editing”, Urban disclosed. .
According to the Chief Executive Officer of t Organization, the launch of the programme will take place after the completion of the current test run, which is being carried out in collaboration with the local partner, Strings and Clad.
