The Eden Moringa Productions and Marketers Limited, in collaboration with the Moringa Productions, Marketers, Farmers Welfare and Empowerment Association of Nigeria (MPM-FWEAN) have vowed to boost the nation’s economic drive.
This is as the organization has launched 500 hectares of moringa farm plantation to drive sustainable agriculture and economic revitalization through the formal flag-off of harvesting, drying, and off-taking activities at the expansive 500-hectare Moringa plantation in Edo State.
Speaking at the flag off of the land mark harvest, drying and off taking of the product in Uvbe Community, along the Benin–Agbor expressway in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State, managing Director and chief executive officer of the project, Dr Ashimashiga Michael Akoloaga, said Moringa plantations is overlooking a critical tool in tackling poverty and insecurity in Nigeria.
He emphasized that the project full supported by the National Patron of the Association, Epa Ewere Dickson Imasogie, includes the ongoing restoring and modernization of the drying and processing facility,aimed at ensuring high quality organic moringa and other products for both local and foreign markets.
“Moringa Oleifera, often referred to as the “miracle tree”, holds immense potential for monthly harvesting cycles, income generation, health promotion, and sustainable economic stability. This launch marks the beginning of a structured, national movement toward positioning Moringa farming as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic empowerment strategy.
According to the Chairman, CEO of Eden moringa production and marketing Association of Nigeria, all Nigerians and the private sector take advantage of the moriga farms to grow agriculture, improve on the nation’s economy and increase revenue earning.
“To be part of this transformative initiative Let us come together to witness and participate in the new era in Nigerian agriculture, powered by the Moringa revolution”.
“Any government analysis for sustainable economic empowerment that excludes the potential of Moringa plantations is overlooking a critical tool in tackling poverty and insecurity in Nigeria,” emphasized Dr. Shuaibu U. Adamu, the National Secretary of the Association.
He further commended Epa Ewere Dickson Imasogie for his unwavering dedication and for donating the farmland and facilities that have made this monumental step possible, urging the public to embrace organic farming practices, especially the cultivation of Moringa, to improve livelihoods and national productivity.
“We call on all stakeholders, members of the Board of Trustees, industry players, and the general public to join us in commemorating this milestone achievement and the light-launching of the Edo State Organic Processing Facility, which is set to become a hub for value addition, job creation, and foreign exchange generation.
In solidarity with Eden moringa achievement, the Association’s zonal leadership drawn from the geopolitical zones including, Dr. Theophilus John Angbashim, North Central, Chief Mrs. Charity Ochulo Uzoma, South East, Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Diya, North West, extended their commendations:
“The strategic development of Moringa-based value chains will not only transform the agricultural landscape but also reduce youth unemployment and community-level insecurity through economic engagement”, the zonal coordinators declared.
They recognized and praised the Chairman/CEO of the Association, Dr. Ashimashiga Michael Akoloaga, for his vision and relentless effort in actualizing what is now recognized as Nigeria’s largest Moringa plantation.
The zonal officers who lauddd the National Patron for his fatherly foresight in Creating enabling Environment for this Generation, also called on other stakeholders in agriculture and agro processing, representatives from the federal, state and local governments, others to key into the initiative to boost revenue earning in the country.
Recalled that moringa with a global demand for organic health products rising, Moringa remains Nigeria’s best bet for foreign exchange earnings, job creation, and sustainable development.
