EID EL Kabir: Nasarawa majority led Assembly Speaker urges Citizens to shun ethnic- religious inclinations for progress

The Nasarawa State majority led House of Assembly Speaker, Daniel Ogah Ogazi has urged the citizens of the state to work together in unison, irrespective of ethno-religious inclinations for the interest of peace, unity and the progress of the state.

 

The Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi in a statement by his media office called while falicitating with Muslims on this Year’s Eid El Kabir Celebration for prayers and support for Government at all levels, while assuring Nasarawa citizens of a people centered Assembly in the coming legislative days.

 

“Fellow compatriots and dear Nasarawa State citizens, I most heartily felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the State on the auspicious occasion of this Year’s Eid El Kabir celebration”.

 

According to Ogah Ogazi, Islam is a religion of peace, a religion that embraces all, regardless of ethnic divide stating that as true Muslims and followers of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), citizens must live and imbibe the good virtues of Islam.

 

He said, the responsibility of building Nasarawa state rest solely on the people’s individual shoulders adding that the citizens must keep the peace and without prejudice, sustain the unity in the spirit of peaceful coexistence, progress and development.

 

“I call on all muslims in this holy season of Eid El Kabir, the festival of sacrifice to renew their faith in Allah and pray for Government at all levels for the stability of the system”..

 

Ogazi who recalled that following the inauguration of the 7th assembly and his election as Speaker, the Assembly under his leadership embarked on a recess hoping to returning soon to commence legislative jobs of law making, regretted however the ongoing litigation.

 

“The emergence of a parallel Assembly in the State has necessitated my Leadership of the Assembly to initiate this legal process for a uniform Assembly, progress in governance and the provision of the dividends of democracy the people would have been enjoying”.

 

“We are hoping and relying on our law courts for quick resolution of the Assembly leadership crisis to ensure our full return. However, our citizens in the State can be rest assured that under my watch, the Assembly will make laws that are result driven and people oriented.

 

“I congratulate the Muslim once again and wish them a peaceful celebration. Eid mubarak”
