FG Commences Construction of 35km Nigeria–Cameroon Border Road Project Estimated at ₦70 Billion

The Federal Government has commenced the construction of a 35-kilometre cross-border road aimed at strengthening regional integration between Nigeria and Cameroon. Estimated at a cost of ₦70 billion, the project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance trade, mobility, and socio-economic cooperation within the West and Central African sub-regions.

The road, which forms a strategic link between both countries, is expected to boost economic activities, ease the movement of goods and people, and foster stronger diplomatic and commercial ties.

Engr. Danjuma Otis U., a senior official from the Federal Ministry of Works, is serving as the Supervising Engineer on the project. According to recent updates, construction is progressing steadily with strong adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and timelines.

“This project is not just a road-it’s a corridor of opportunity for communities on both sides of the border,” Engr. Otis noted, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to timely and efficient delivery.

The Federal Ministry of Works has lauded the efforts of its engineering teams and partners for their dedication to national development, describing the project as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s infrastructural advancement and regional diplomacy.
