A Nasarawa state youth Activists task politicians.
As The 2027 elections is underway, a youth and students Activists in person of Comr Victor Affiku Tsaku speaking in an interview explained that in Nasarawa state,we don’t necessarily politicians who changes political party but we need politicians with competency and those who actually built themselves and ready for leadership.
If you take a careful look at the last elections in Nasarawa state it will further support my disposition that you don’t need to belong to the best political party to win elections in Nassarawa state,in 2023 elections we see party that has no Office in the state winning two senators out of three, winning two Houses of Reps. out of the five members wehave,we see Labour party winning the presidential elections in Nasarawa state without any identified office or stakeholder in the state supporting the candidate,we see four political parties winning several seats at the state Assembly making even the number of opposition is higher than the ruling party.
My point of Consolation as far as Nasarawa state is concerned is that even if the elections is tomorrow the entirety of Nasarawa Voters already know who to vote irrespective of their party affiliations. So any candidate contesting elections in Nasarawa state should first of all ensure that he is well rooted and he is in touch with the grassroots and not just to scramble for the party to join, you can be in a political party and many candidates of different positions will win their elections and you will end up loosing your elections that is because we are focus on voting credible persons into power.
It will be politically out of place for someone who lost elections not to actually put his house in order instead trying to scramble for political party to join. However,it’s not wrong to scramble for political party to join but I think the first thing to do is to ensure you are the credible candidate for any position you are vying for.
A very important point of note is that the National political trend hardly influence or affect our Nasarawa state politics hence in 2011 despite the massive victory recorded by the PDP in the presidency they still lost Nasarawa state to the newly emerged CPC which was the only party in the country to have a Governor under that platform a lot of examples are available for our peruse.
On a final note,I wish to call on Nasarawa state citizens to be focused not to be carry away by whatever political trends in the country and the state but to ensure that we focus on assessing the available candidates who are contesting so we can know and vote for the best that we know which I want to believe in Nasarawa state we already know who is the best for us, all we know it’s just a matter of time we will vote for the person.
COMRADE VICTOR AFFIKU TSAKU.
