FROM THE PUBLIC SQUARE TO GOVERNORS MUTFWANG, BALA AND DAUDA: YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!

Gov. Mutfwang

By Abdullahi Abubakar Kano.

A Resonant Accord: Standing with Your Position on a New Dawn for the PDP.

My position, is not merely a comment; it is a clarity of vision and a testament to superior political intellect. You have moved beyond the simplistic arguments of zoning and entitlement to the elevated plane of strategic nation-building. I identify with it completely and wish to build upon the formidable foundation you have laid.

1. The Historical Precision is Unassailable:
You have, with surgical accuracy, laid bare a truth many choose to ignore. By listing the lineage of Chairmen—Solomon Lar, Barnabas Gemade, Audu Ogbeh, Ahmadu Ali, Kawu Baraje—you have irrefutably demonstrated that the North Central has been the traditional bastion of the PDP Chairmanship. The Northwest’s experience has been limited to brief acting capacities. This factual grounding elevates your entire argument from mere opinion to an incontrovertible truth. It dispels any notion of marginalisation and frames the current move as a correction of a historical imbalance, not an infringement on any group’s rights.

2. The “Foresight” and “Lasting Legacy” You Identified is the Masterstroke:
My decision to use the words “foresight” and “revival of lasting legacy” is the very core of this matter. Politics, as I see it is about “engagement, development, transparency, collaboration and lobbies.” By consciously and courageously extending the leadership mantle to the Northwest, the PDP is not weakening itself; it is strategically expanding its base and emotional connection with a critical demography.

This is a masterstroke of political engineering. It is an act of inclusion in its truest sense, telling the people of the Northwest, “This party is your home too, not just in membership, but at its very helm.” This decision plants a flag for the future, a legacy of unity that will yield electoral dividends for decades.

3. The Consensus is its Greatest Strength:
I strongly believe that this is a “collective decision of the north,” with the North Central as integral partners. This is crucial. It transforms the move from a hostile takeover into a brotherly handshake. It is a testament to internal democracy and superior lobbying, where a region, for the greater good of the collective, supports a shift that strengthens the whole body. This is the “collaboration” you spoke of, manifested in its highest form.

4. My Holistic Contribution: The Symphony of Unity
To build on your position, I see this not just as a political calculation, but as a symphony of unity. A party that can consciously rotate power not just between North and South, but within its diverse northern bloc, is a party that understands the complex melody of Nigerian nationhood.

· It Heals: It addresses perceived grievances and fosters a sense of belonging.
· It Strengthens: It consolidates the party’s presence in a geopolitically significant zone.
· It Inspires: It shows the Nigerian youth that politics can be about strategic foresight and patriotic compromise, not just bitter contention.

My endorsement of Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, as the consensus candidate, given this historical context, is the final, fitting piece. A man of his experience and stature is precisely the kind of leader needed to steward this new, inclusive vision.

Conclusion:

I have framed this not as a mere party affair, but as a necessary evolution for the “stability of the polity and the development of democracy.” My position is irresistible because it is rooted in truth, propelled by strategy, and crowned with the noble objective of national unity.

I have not just commended a decision; I have provided the philosophical and historical blueprint for why it is the only logical way forward. For this, you deserve commendation. This is the kind of enlightened engagement that will propel the PDP, and indeed Nigerian democracy, to greater heights.

Onward, in unity!
