The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu and Wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, have been consecrated and installed as Apostle and Bishop respectively by the Voice of God Christian Mission Incorporated.

The event which took place Sunday, at the Voice of God Christian Mission, Calabar, was held at the instance of the General overseer and President of the church, Her Eminence ArchBishop (Dr.) Ananwan Lawrence Itam.

Speaking at the sacred episcopal installation, consecration and enthronement, Apostle Otu affirmed his stand with Christ and resoundingly accepted his new apostolic calling.

“I do believe the Biblical standard according to 1Tim 4:6 demanding upon the enthronement, to heed to myself and to the doctrine and continue in them.

“I will constantly teach the word of God and inculcate discipline in the church as the scripture requires. I agree that the Holy Spirit will only and always be my source of strength and power, so help me God.

Ministering at the event, with text from 2 Corinthians 3:17, the Wife of the Governor, Bishop Otu, expounded on the liberation power of the Spirit of God, noting that Cross River is blessed because the present administration had enthroned Christ as the leader of the state.

“It is not over until it is over. Only God has the final say over your life, no man does! No matter how dejected, frustrated and downcast you feel, hang in there, God will come through for you. He will liberate you from that situation, that trouble, that set up, whatever the devil has done, the Spirit of liberty will undo.”

In attendance were clergymen, the political class, and Christian faithfuls.

Highpoint of the event was the Bishopric and Apostolic installation by the President of Mount Zion Light House Full Gospel Church, His Grace, Archbishop N.D. Ayakndue, ordination of Pastors, as well as ministration of songs.
