A coalition of Idoma professionals under the aegis of Idoma Patriotic Front (IPF), has lauded the tireless peace efforts led by the Ochi’doma, His Royal Majesty, Dr. John Elaigwu Odogbo in brokering peace and uniting the six factional socio-cultural groups into one big family.
The Och’Idoma during his recent trip to the United Kingdom where had met with the factional groups highlighting the need for all Idoma sons and daughters in the diaspora to act in one accord.
President of Idoma Patriotic Front, Mister Chris Aakpa Diga in statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday appreciated the Och’Idoma for his genuine concern for the growth the development of his domain.
Diga noted that the Och’Idoma, in his zeal to bring lasting peace among his wards, funded his UK trip fully without pandering to any interests, group or political partisanship to see to the need that all Idoma sons and daughters in the diaspora unit for the overall development of his kingdom
He said “The move by His Royal Majesty, Dr. John Elaigwu Odogbo, the Ochi’doma to unite all the factional diaspora socio-cultural groups, particularly in the United Kingdom, is heart warming as this is the beginning of peace unity and progress among our brothers and sisters in the diaspora.
“The move is in the overall interests of the Idoma nation. With all six factions working together, it will be one cohesive move to interface with the administration of govenror Hyacinth Alia who is rapidly developing the state and see what areas of needs can be urgently attended to in Benue South for rapid development of our region.”
He called on Idoma ethnic nationalities to take advantage of the opportunity of the transformative administration of Rev Father Hyacinth Alia to see to the development in terms of road projects across Benue South, health, educational and cottage industries.
“We must take advantage of the unity and progress brokered by His Royal Majesty, Dr John Elaigwu Odogbo, the Ochi’doma, by leveraging on this peace and we call on all our sons and daughters working in the administration of Govenror Hyacinth Alia to curry home favours and bring progress to Idoma land.
“We call on Benue indigenes and particularly, Idoma sons and daughters to support the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia to succeed and use that support to attract development to our land in Zone C.”
Diga expressed the belief that, with all hands on deck, working for one united goal in the interest of the Zone, a lot can be achieved in the life time of the present administration to address past administrations neglect of Benue South.
