Death of over six persons in a class between Farin Dutse community in Nasarawa and people suspected to be Fulani herders is sparking spontaneous reactions with an appeal on governor Sule to end the senseless killings in the area.

It would be recalled that Far in Dutse in Nasarawa within the week came under attack leaving not less than six people killed , houses set ablaze and many others injured

Speaking exclusively to TMSnews, some residents who spoke on account of anonymity said attacks on the community if not properly tackled, the entire community may be wipe out.

They appealed to the state government and the security operatives to strengthen security mechanism around the are to safeguard the lives and properties of the Farin Duse Community.

Meanwhile, the Police in Nasarawa State have confirmed the death of six persons, scores wounded in the communal clashes between herders and farmers in Farin Dutse, in Nasarawa Local Council.

According to the police, six bodies have been recovered following deployment of officers to the community.

He explained that some houses, shops, motorcycles, and a car were also vandalised during the attack.

“During the operation, three injured victims—Samaniya Wa’azu, Vincent Ezekiel, and Johnson Maikasuwa were rescued and taken to a Medical Centre for treatment

Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Government has condemned the Tuesday attack on the Farin Dutse community of Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state by suspected herders.

The government in a statement by the Senior Special Assistance on public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, faulted the heinous act of violence that resulted in the unfortunate loss of lives and destruction of property.

Government expresses deepest condolences to the families of the victims and assures them that everything possible is being done to bring the perpetrators to justice.

While commending the security agencies in the state for their proactive response to the unfortunate incident, the State Government urges sustained efforts towards apprehending all those responsible for the dastardly act.

Government also appeals to the citizens of the State to remain calm, peaceful and refrain from taking laws into their own hands.

“We assure members of the public that the State Government is working closely with the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and that peace and security are restored to the affected community.

“The Nasarawa State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule remains committed to promoting peaceful coexistence among communities as well as protecting lives and properties of all citizens. Government will not tolerate any act of violence or lawlessness in the state.
