JUST IN: PDP Defeats Buhari’s Presidency in AMAC Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the just concluded area council election in the federal capital Territory, Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The results for AMAC were officially declared by the INEC Returning Officer, Sani Saka.

TMSnews reports that Mr Zakka polled 19,302 votes while Mr Karshi secured 13,240 votes.

AMAC, arguably the most cosmopolitan of the six area councils in Abuja, has 12 wards and includes the city centre of Nigeria’s seat of power, Abuja.

The PDP has now won three out of the four area councils declared by INEC so far. The others won by the PDP are Kuje and Bwari while the APC has so far won in Gwagwalada Area Council.
