Just in: plateau loses pilgrim in Makkah

Plateau State has announced the death of one of its pilgrims in Makkah, where she was performing the holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia,

In a statement by the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Daiyabu Dauda said Jamila Muhammad, a female pilgrim, died yesterday Monday second June, 2nd, 2025 at the King Abdul’aziz hospital.

Daiyabu Dauda, said immediate action was taken to provide medical attention to the deceased upon being informed of her condition.

According him he directed the medical team to take her to the hospital for proper medication in line with the directives of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

The statement said she was buried according to Islamic rites. The Amirul Hajj, officials, and relatives of the deceased attended her funeral prayers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

The Executive Secretary, extended heartfelt condolences to the Government of Plateau State, the family, friends, and relatives of the deceased.

He prayed that Allah forgives her shortcomings and admits her into Aljannatul Firdaws, the highest place in paradise.

He added that the unfortunate incident brings to three the number of Nigerian pilgrims who have lost their lives during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

While praying for Allah to grant her Jannatul Firdaws and comfort her loved ones during this difficult time, said the board’s thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Hajiya Jamila Muhammad.
