By David Odama

Former National chairman of the All progressive Congress, (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu has vowed that governorship candidate of the party in Nasararawa state must emerged from the Keffi zone of the state.

Adamu made the declaration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders’ Meeting in Nasarawa State.

The first civilian governor of the state in a statement issued as a resolute statement regarding the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial election said argued that having gone round the senatorial zones, Keffi zone should produce the next governor of Nasarawa State in 2027.”

Senator Adamu’s forceful words is a clear directive and set the stage for intense political maneuvering within the state’s ruling party. His statement signals a firm stance against any deviation from what he perceives as a rightful claim by the Keffi senatorial zone to the state’s highest office.

The pronouncement, delivered with characteristic gravitas, is expected to resonate deeply within APC circles and among the broader electorate in Nasarawa State. It highlights the critical importance of zoning arrangements in Nigerian politics, particularly concerning power rotation and equitable representation among different regions.

Sources close to the meeting informed our correspondent that Senator Adamu’s declaration was met with significant attention from the stakeholders, reflecting the weight his words carry within the party.

“This directive effectively lays down a gauntlet, challenging any potential aspirants from outside the Keffi zone and sending a strong message about party loyalty and adherence to established, albeit unwritten, power-sharing agreements”, sources said.
