We had hesitation as friends. Kashim Musa Tumsah is a people’s minder and welfarist, selfless and compassionate! His tireless efforts to uplift the people of Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria, it was easy to mobilize his friends acroos rhe country, some, as far back as his day at peimary, secondary and university days in maiduguri, Lagos and the UK as well as in the places he had worked or interacted with others. If the pudding was bad, ask the dour. In this case, the pudding aint bad. Kashim Musa Tumsah, otherwise known by friends as KMT, is a beacon of goodness, and in a region ravaged by insurgency and poverty, he represents hope and resillience.
A consummate Oil and Gas lawyer, diplomat, and farmer, KMT had used his vast network, knowledge of his turf, and expertise to spot talents and resources deployed primarily, towards empowering inclusively, the people of Yobe, particularly the youth, through various initiatives and action. His “Operation Light Up Yobe” project, which provides solar-backed electricity and water. The testimony from beneficiary communities indicates this as a significant game-changer for the people who have been plunged into darkness and scarcity of basics due to insurgency.
What’s more remarkable about Kashim’s efforts is that he has rallied his friends and associates to join him in this noble cause. Together, they have made a significant impact, providing support to victims of insurgency, feeding the poor and vulnerable during Ramadan, and even paying hospital bills for those in need.
Kashim’s selflessness and generosity are an inspiration to many indeed. He embodies rare values of genuine compassion, empathy, and kindness that are essential for building better societies.
When asked, one of his friends revealed that KMT convinced us that the governor of Yobe State is doing alot but needs support from all and sundry in specific areas where the present government of Yobe State ably led Mai Mala Buni is passionate about, further explaining that Yobe State is peaceful and united but for the occasional disturbance by misled groups. He said Yobe State is not on the news for bad reasons but for developmental and progressive courses.
