Labour Party crisis deepens as youth leaders disown Abure, Ahanotu

Crisis rocking one of the opposition parties in the country, Labour Party, LP, further deepened at the weekend as the

Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, FNYLPPN, disowned Barrister Julius Abure and Mr. Kennedy Ahanotu as the National Chairman and National Youth Leader, respectively.

In a strong statement of disclaimer against national leadership of Labour Party, the Forum particularly affirmed that Comrade Eragbe Anslem Aphimia, is the authentic National Youth Leader of LP and National Publicity Secretary of FNYLPPN

The Forum, in the statement signed by Eragbe and and made available to our correspondent, noted that both Abure and Ahanotu were misrepresenting their positions within the party.

According to the statement, Eragbe was elected as the National Youth Leader of LP in 2019 and remained in that office by law against any speculation that is not in accordance to the rule of law.

While calling on both individuals to desist from parading themselves as national officers of the party, the Forum highlighted serious allegations against Abure to include the organization of what it described as an unlawful national convention on March 27, 2024, in Nnewi, Anambra State in violation of a court judgment issued on March 20, 2018.

The statement reads: “That Comrade Engr. (Dr.) Eragbe Anslem Aphimia (C.Reg; COA) the ajnnuthentic and only National Youth Leader of Labour Party, (LP) in Nigeria elected from the 10th June 2019 Akwanga Nasarawa State National Convention of Labour Party, LP till the next All Inclusive and Expansive National Convention of the Labour Party LP in 2025, hereby disclaim the the above two (2) imposters in Labour Party LP mentioned above.

“That, Mr Kennedy Ahanotu, the Deputy National Secretary of Labour Party, (LP) is hereby warned to desist from parading himself as the National Youth Leader of Labour Party, (LP) else, I will ensure his arrest and prosection by the law and security agencies in Nigeria.

“That, Mr Julius Abure, the elected National Secretary of Labour Party, (LP) is hereby warned to desist from parading himself as National Chairman of the Labour Party, (LP) for the listed reasons:

“That Abure’s illegal and unlawful tenure expired on 8th June 2024

“That the National Executive Council NEC meeting of the Labour Party, (LP) on 4th September 2024 Appointed Senator Esther Nenadi Usman & Senator Darlington Nwokocha As Chairperson and Secretary to pilot a 29-man Labour Party, (LP) CTC to conduct congresses for the All Inclusive and Expansive National Convention 2025.

“The Abure and his criminal gang conducted an unlawful and illegal National Convention on 27th March 2024 in Nnewi Anambra State in utter violation of the consent judgement of 20th March 2018 granted by Justice Gabriel Kolawole in Abuja.

“That, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC mid-wifed the terms of settlement on 24th April 2022 which was signed by NLC & LP on 26th June 2022 for a one year implementatiion which Abure criminally breached.

“That, Abure in further violation of the terms of settlement did not conduct: ward, LGA and state Congresses, Delegates election, Set up the Board of Trustee BoT, Mobilize 10 million membership into the Labour Party LP data base.

“The Abure’s criminal prosecution order pending in the office of the Honourable Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice HAGF-MJ on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police IGP on the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID investigation with forensic audit report that indicted Julius Abure and others over their Unlawful substitution of Oko Splendour Eze the Ebonyi State 2023 governorship candidate of Labour Party LP in INEC portal using forged documents and fake court order for perjury, forgery and criminal conspiracy.

“That the list of the authentic Labour Party, LP National Working Committee, NWC members elected from the 10th June 2019 national convention of the Labour Party, LP is attached and valid until the all inclusive and expansive national convention 2025.

“That the Honourable Justice Emeka Nwite judgement of 8th October 2024 that asked INEC to recognize Abure whose tenure expired on 8th June 2024 to upload polling units agents for the 16th November 2024 governorship election in Ondo State and Refresher program has been appealed by the legitimate Care Taker Committee, CTC headed by Senator Esther Nenadi Usman as Chairperson & Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Secretary of the Labour Party, LP and her 29-man CTC team.

“That, the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria DOES NOT recognize the imposter one Mr Kennedy Ahanotu, the Deputy National Secretary of Labour Party LP and wish to dissociate the Forum from Kennedy Ahanotu.

“That, the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, in a unanimous resolution adopted and presented in a press conference yesterday Friday 18th October 2024 the support for Dr. Halimat Tejuosho as the Forum recommendation for the office of the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR

“That, the Forum, Acknowledged President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approved 30 days National Youth Conference that will create an enabling environment for Youth participation to highlight issues affecting the Nation & Youth of our great country.

“That, the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria hereby disclaim the imposter Mr Kennedy Ahanotu the Deputy National Secretary of Labour Party LP in Nigeria.”
