As defectors lay claims to party ownership

Supremacy Leadership crisis has enveloped the leadership of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State, two weeks after appointing acting Chairman, Secretary of the party.
It would be recalled that some defectors from other parties met two Sundays ago and appointed a former Deputy Governor, Mike Abdul, Jibrin Sabo Keana as the Chairman and secretary respectively as Chairman and of the party respectively.
City post gathered autoritatively on Tuesday that the current chairman of the party, Alaku Godwin Williams, has kicked against the legitimacy of the new leadership, claiming that he remained the authentic chairman of ADC in Nasarawa State.
According Alaku Godwin Williams, who spoke to journalists inAkwanga, he chairman who spoke to journalists in Akwanga claimed that so many aspirants contests the positions in 2023 on theADC platform and wondered how some people who are just joining the party would come and hijack the party leadership.
“So many aspirants contested on the platform of ADC in 2023, so how can someone come from the blues and claim the chairmanship of the party today”.?
Williams, who supervised all elections during the 2023 general elections in the state and also contested for governorship position under ADC, expressed surprised that some of the defectors, whom he had previously approached to join the party, are now claiming leadership positions.
“Sadly, most of them you saw in that meeting, I met and begged them to join ADC in the build-up to 2023 elections, they refused, so I am surprised that they are embracing the party through the window.”
Williams specifically mentioned Mike Abdul, saying, “The same Mike Abdul, that I approached severally in 2023 to come and contest for Senate under ADC and he refused, today is saying he is the coordinator or is it chairman of the party.” he stated.
When reminded of Senator Patricia Kawashiki’s presence at the meeting, Williams replied, “She is my mother, but the issue of party is different.”
The embattled chairman, emphasized that he remains the ADC chairman in the state.
