Mai Mala Buni Is Using the CECPC Platform to Collect Money From Those Contesting: Lawan

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hassan Lawan has carpeted the Chairman of the Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Mai Mala Buni, accusing him of using the party for selfish gains.

Lawan stated this during a Channels TV interview on the program Politics today with Seun Okimbaloye. Lawan said Buni is holding unto the CECPC platform and doesn’t want to let go.

“My problem is, I don’t have an interest in anybody that becomes the chairman of the party, I want us to have a formidable platform. So that will not apply or have a zamfara state in the national in 2023.” He said.

Speaking further, Lawan accused Buni of using the platform of the CECPC to collect money from those contesting for positions in the party.

“Mai Mala Buni doesn’t want to go, he is using the CECPC platform to collect money from those contesting, also to bargain for vice president slot. He’s bent on destroying the party and disgracing the president.

He also accused Buni of requesting money from Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to issue certificate of return to a factional chairman of the party in the state following an appeal court verdict.

“When the judgment of appeal court came on Thursday, and it was in the favor of Kano State Governor and the Kano state governor now asked Mai Mala to issue certificate of return to the substantive chairman of the party.

Do you know what he said? he requested for money, he requested the governor to give him before he will issue the certificate.” Lawn alleged
