The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on its members to remain calm following circulating rumors on social media about alleged plans by certain individuals to disrupt the ongoing peaceful party congress in the state.
In a statement released on Thursday, the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Francis Orogu, addressed the concerns, assuring members that the leadership is committed to ensuring a smooth and transparent process.
“We have become aware of rumors suggesting that some members of the party are working in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in the state to frustrate our ongoing congress. I want to urge all esteemed members of our great party to remain calm and focused on the process,” Orogu stated.
He emphasized the importance of disregarding any unauthorized orders or information, reminding party members to wait for official communication from the leadership. “Any order or information should be disregarded until there is a formal circular from the above leadership,” Orogu added.
The PDP leader further cautioned against falling prey to what he described as “saboteurs” within the party, allegedly working to derail the congress. He reiterated the party’s commitment to a peaceful and successful outcome, despite attempts by these elements to cause confusion.
“Do not be distracted by the actions of saboteurs within the party,” Orogu concluded.
According to reports, PDP congress in Nasarawa State has garnered attention as party members look forward to electing new leaders and strategizing for the future. Despite the alleged plans to disrupt the event, party leaders maintain that the process will continue undisturbed.
“PDP Power to the People! PDP First, PDP Always!” the chairman reaffirmed, underscoring the party’s unity and focus on progress.
