The Nasarawa state Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NFC), Hon Dogo Shammah has said the NFC formation is anchored on the desire of the Nasarawa Citizen to return power to the people.

The statement noted that NDC is not just a party; but a movement for every citizen yearning for good governance, economic opportunity, and a future where their voices truly matter”.

“Our party is a new, people-focused political party established in Nigeria, built on the pillars of Democracy, Development, and Service with dedication to fostering a new era of participatory governance and sustainable development for all citizens.

“The decision to form the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) stems from a deep-seated desire to return power to the people of Nigeria and Nasarawa, with believe in a politics of inclusion, tangible development, and unwavering integrity”

“The party under my watch is committed to conducting its affairs with the highest level of discipline, internal democracy, and respect for the people.

“We therefore, call on the people of the state to register in the party, as the formal inauguration of the state executive committee and the unveiling of the party’s full manifesto will be announced in the coming weeks.

It would be recalled that Comrade Dogo Shammah’s appointment as the state chairman of the party, follows his formal resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on March 31, 2026, marking a decisive step towards a new political direction for the state.

“The historic appointment of Hon. Shammah to spearhead the affairs of the party in Nasarawa as the Chairman was ratified during our National Executive Council (NEC) meeting monitored by INEC at the headquarters of the Party in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the party in a letter of introduction signed by Sen. Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe and Barr. I Kenna Enekwezu explained that a prominent political figure in Nasarawa State in the person of, Comrade Dogo Shammah, has appointed as the pioneer State Chairman of the NDC

“His appointment was ratified at our National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting held at our Headquarters on March 25, 2026 and monitored by INEC

“We write to formally introduced HON. DOGO SHAMMAH to your good office as the State Chairman of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Nasarawa State, Kindly accord him with all the necessary assistance he may need.
