Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, (NSUBEB), Dr Kassim Muh’d Kassim has expressed his administration determination to eradicate all forms of nepotism at the board to ensure that the system is clean and devoid of sentiment.
Dr Kassim Stated this Friday in his office while inaugurating committee to look into critical matters relating to proper placement and progression of staff of the board’s head office.
The NSUBEB chairman maintained that the essence is to strengthen the records of civil servant towards the realization of greater productivity, in order to maintain seniority in the civil service.
The Chairman expressed dismay that a grade level 13 staff keep collecting salary on grade level 12 even when his salary on grade level 13 keeps coming as well as a grade level 7 staff supervising a grade level 13 staff.
Other examples set by the chairman includes illegal employment, deductions and transfer by the various Education Secretaries without the board approval.
The terms of reference includes, to examine the entry and or additional qualifications/certificate of staff of the board, to determine and review placement and progression of staff of the board from the period of engagement to 2023 promotion, and to recommend any matters that may be incidental to the committee.
The committee headed by Allahnana Attah, a retired permanent secretary in the State civil service as Chairman while the board secretary, Hajiya Ahmed Hashiya is to serve as member , representatives of the Head of Service, representative of the CSC, the NUT Chairman as member, representative of variouse Union at NSUBEB, Director basic education in the ministry of education, the legal adviser of NSUBEB Barr Hauwa Lawan as member, while David Makama, the director of Administration and Supply at the board is to serve as Secretary.
