Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, has said Nigeria is sliding into anarchy, urging intervention to rescue it from going down the hill.
Wike, who stated this during his visit to a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, in company of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam and Lagos State governorship aspirant of the party, Oladiran Jide, popularly known as Jandor, yesterday, said that the highest requirement of a leader is focus, capacity and courage.
He urged leaders of the party to give him the opportunity to be the flagbearer of the PDP’s presidential, assuring that he would deliver the seat for the party.George, who pledged Lagos PDP’s support for Wike, urged the party to remain united and strong to dethrone the opposition.
“When it comes to integrity and being absolutely resourceful, he is there.
“He also has on his side that youthful depth that he can run from here to that gate in two seconds. I can’t do that anymore.
We will make sure we do what is proper, as the public is waiting for us. They are more in number than we the card-carrying members of the party.
“They are watching who they can trust. If you are divided, you are going to be defeated. We must remain united. By the grace of God, he will deliver us there,” he prayed.
