The State Director, National Orientation Agency Nasarawa State Mr. Augustine Akwe Doma has called for women active participation in Politics in the State
Mr. Akwe Doma stated this during a one day sensitisation workshop, enhancing women leadership, political participation and representation in governance particularly for women fold
Mr. Akwe stressed further that, with the theme “Safe Space, Strong Voices the major stake holders, Association of Local Government Chairman’s wives, women party leaders and all the participants must join forces in making their dreams come through
He finally wish them a fruitful deliberations and urged them to keenly pay attention to the presentations
On her part, the resource person, mrs. Christiana Abimiku expressed her dismay in women low participation in Politics, according to her, women always take lead during elctions voting hence the reason for them to consider women and take possession of 35% affirmation as enshrined
The wives of about 10 out of the 13 Local Governments Chairmen were present at the sensitisation workshop, speaking on their behalf, the wife of ALGON Chairman in the Staters mrs. Safiyanu Isah Andaha promised that she and her counterparts women will all go to their various LGs and organise a Stepdown of the workshop based on its importance
Also, Commissioner for Environment and Natural resource Hon. Princes Dr. Margaret intake Elayo in her goodwill message shower encomium on the organiser and the founder of the foundation (SPCI) Dr. Amina Omeri for her foresite and love for her women folds, she advice women to take advantage of the workshop and take politics with all seriousness for a better Nigeria
Dr. Amina Mike Omeri thanked all the participants for responding to the invitation, she urged women especially in Nassarawa State to utilise this golden opportunity to access the Safe, Space, Strong Voices: Women and Space Special Seats Bill already going on deliberations in the National Assemblies
Dr. Omeri finally used the opportunity to answer questions asked by participants, she pray for journey mercies to all that attend the workshop, item seven and snapshots climax the event.
