Ahead of the scheduled November second 2024, Local government elections in Nasarawa state, Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the state Friday expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the state Independent Electorial Commission and declared it’s readiness to participate fully in the exercise in the state
The party Chairman, Hon. Cletus Ogah who disclosed the stand of the party in a statement in Lafia, said his party was fully ready to participate in the council elections put together by NASIEC adding that the party was satisfied with the processes.
“We in Zeneith Labour Party ZLP are ready to participate in the elections. We have our candidates ready for the exercise because the elections processes has left no one in doubt in terms of fairness, just and credibility in the conduct of the councils polls in Nasarawa state.
“From the body language of the governor, we are convinced that the local government elections in Nasarawa state will be fair, transparent, just and credible. As a party the only way to guarantee fair transparent, just, credible and acceptable elections is to participate in the process and make your party visible, make your votes count”, Hon. Ogah stated.
“Local government administration has suffered setbacks in the past, the third tier of the government is now well equipped hence the autonomy granted the Local government administration. It beholds on the political parties to stay in and make the system work for the benefit of our people”, ZLP Chairman declared.
“What we need to do in Nasarawa state as a party and as a people is to ensure that we make the system work by participating actively in the process. All the political parties in the state need each other including the critical stakeholders in the electorial process in our dear state”.
While appealing to all the critical stakeholders in Nasarawa state to contribute meaningfully and positively to strengthening the state electorial system, Hon. Cletus Ogah advised the state electorial empire to be fair, transparent, just and remain neutral in order to deliver a credible election in Nasarawa state.
He also called on the citizens, the electorates to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the council polls ading that this was the only way the state can move forward politically.
