By Ahmed Oshafu, Lafia

The atmosphere of political desperation has continue to overburden the Nasarawa state Governor.

Latest reports has distanced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from any expected political intervention over the multiple crisis engulfing the Northcentral state.

Sources from Abuja have revealed that the president appears not to be interested in intervening on local state politics especially, those involving the judicial arm of government.

Gov Sule whose second term election was marred in controversies is dragged to the court by the opposition PDP governorship candidate, Dr David Emmanuel Ombugadu, challenging irregularities in the results of the March 18th Nasarawa state gubernatorial poll.

Gov Sule’s last minute desperate push for INEC to manipulate the results from the three electoral wards of Tunga(Awe LGA), Gayam and Chiroma (Lafia) remains the subject of litigation at the state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia.

The fear of that could have given rise to the current crisis at Nasarawa state House of Assembly, NSHA over the Speakership of the 7th Assembly.

While majority 14 of the state lawmakers had elected Hon Daniel Ogah Ogazi as NSHA Speaker, Gov Sule pitched tenth with the former Speaker, Hon Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe who got 11 votes.

Both the lawmakers and their supporters had kicked with a sustainable protests in both Lafia the state capital and far away in Abuja, demanding for the sanction the state police Commissioner.

In addition to the nude women protests that greeted Gov Sule’s alleged rape on democracy, the attention of the world is drawn to Nasarawa state as the courts deliberate on who rules the state as governor and Speaker respectively.

Not satisfied, Engr Sule had recently mobilized some influential traditional rulers to far away Daura, Katsina state where he went to trade sentiment, beg ex President Muhammadu Buhari to talk to his successor, President Tinubu to show a presidential interest.

Rather that give assurance, an Aso Villa impeccable source revealed that President Tinubu has demanded to know why the APC lost the presidential election and all the three senatorial seats even while Sule as a sitting Governor, Sen Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman, ex governor Tanko Umaru Almakura and all the cabinet members including local chairmen and Councilors with Sule supervising?

The source hinted that President Tinubu tactically ignored any intricacies of judicial intervention.

Caught in between royalty of two ex governors: Abdullahi Adamu and Tanko Almakura, Gov Sule is fast running out of ideas. The huge debt of a political tsunami emanatibg from an opposition he had earlier undermined and indeed, a divided ruling APC remain the key suspects that are giving the ex Dangote manager sleepless nights.

To save the situation, a senior lawyer was said to have offered a political opinion which he drafted and asked the governor to execute in earnest.

To handle the crisis internally, the governor has intensifies his established pressure on emirs and chiefs on a daily basis to coarce their lawmakers into supporting his preferred choice for the NSHA Speakership.

The first move was very successful when 3 out of the 14 opposition lawmakers: Hon Adamu Oyanki (PDP/Doma North), Hon. Hudu Hudu(APC/Awe 1) and Hon Ovey John (PDP/Keffi East) were coopted into the governor’s camp.

However, trouble was to be visited at Obi LGA the next day when the traditional rulers kidnapped and bundled two of their lawmakers: Hon Peter Ibrahim Akwe (PDP/Obi 1) and Hon Luka Zhekaba(PDP/Obi2) to Government House for forceful endorsement of the governor’s preferred Speaker.

The two opposition PDP lawmakers have vehemently refused to switch their camps thus leave the NSHA short of the required 2/3 of the 24 NSHA to form qurom for the authenticity of a legal Speakership
