The Peoples’ Democratic Party National Youth Movement has condemned the appointment Lauretta Onochie as Inec Commissioner, describing it as a threat to democracy.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the national president, Engr S. A. Lukman where he decried that planting of an APC card carrying member, the former SSA on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari- Mrs Lurretha Onochie as Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Commissioner cannot be justified by any guise hence the government must realize this and reverse the appointment immediately.
“It saddens our heart as young Nigerians and Democrats who cherish decency and fairness especially from people in power to common people who gave them mandate.
“Precedence is of essence in the account of history hence we condemn the undemocratic behavior of the ruling party APC.
“We wonder why our electoral institution which ought to be independent is about to be politicized as against the provision of the law by ruling APC. It is so baffling to even imagine the temerity of the APC to attempt handing our Electoral system to an APC stalwart.
Describing the appointment as nothing but a preplanned rigging arrangement of 2023 General Election by the failed government of APC led by President Muhammadu Buhari to enable them to continue in power by crook of hook, Lukeman pointed out that the APC is afraid that Nigerians are now wise and are set to evict them politically by 2023.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians shall in their millions rewrite the wrong and correct the lifetime most expensive political mistaken decision of bringing this undemocratic, packaged tyrant, unprepared individuals, most corrupt set of old folks, most divisive elements and most nepotic political party and people to Aso Rock.
“It remains a costly mistake and wrong choice of handing over our dear great Nation to this incompetent PMB led Government which has led Nigeria to economic, political and security misfortune.
“Is a shame that the APC will not stop at anything to openly display desperation to win an election that is even yet to be conducted” they stated.
They called on the leadership of the National Assembly under Sen Ahmad Lawan and Hon Femi Gbajabiamila as Senate President and Speaker respectively that they will go down in the history of Nigeria as the worst, unintelligent, gullible, mendacious, and cruel legislative reign in Nigeria if Mrs Lauretta is not rejected for these obvious reasons.
While promising to employ all other legal and legitimate avenue to ensure this unjust, political influenced crime, illegal appointment, colossal electoral fraud, and political manipulation never stands, PDP National Youth Movement disclosed that in coming days, they shall mobilize young Nigerian locally and internationally in a peaceful protest to United Kingdom Embassy and other International Communities to seek intervention and prevalence on these open (daylight) robbery by APC in Nigeria.
