PDP ‘ll ensure stronger relationship with traditional institutions for nation building – Adams Ninga

The People’s Democtratic party in Nasarawa State have assured traditional institutions in the state of their readiness to strengthen the bond of relationship for nation building.

Chairman of the opposition PDP in Nasarawa, Alhaji Adams Ninga Bako, gave the reaffirmation when he paid courtesy call on three traditional rulers of Awe, Keana and Obi local government Areas in the Southern part of the state.

According to the party chairman, the thank you visit to the areas was to appreciate the monarchs, .party supporters and the stakeholders and to assure them that the party under his leadership in the state would not relent in its desire to ensure strong relationships with the people and the party stakeholders.

He further said that it was also an opportunity to strengthen ties, fosteri unity and cooperation to improve the fortune of the party in future elections.

He assured them that the party under his leadership would run an open door policy to carry everyone along.

The PDP Chairman therefore, promised that the party would create an level playing ground for every aspirant that would contest the 2027 election in the party.

Receiving the party leadership, stakeholders and the supporters in Awe, the Emir of Awe,Alhaji Isa Abubakar-Umar, cautioned political parties against imposition of candidates on the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The traditional ruler emphasised the importance of respecting the will of the electorates by ensuring that the selection of candidate is done transparently.

“The imposition of candidates can undermine the democratic process, potentially leading to political apathy.

“Imposition can lead to intra-party conflicts and disputes, loss of trust, voters may lose faith in the electoral process and institutions,” he added.

The Emir highlighted the need for transparent and inclusive party primaries that allow candidates to emerge through a democratic process.

“This approach can help build trust, promote credible leadership, and ensure that elected officials genuinely represent the people’s will,” he added.

On his part, the Osana of Keana, Dr Abdullahi Amegba Agbo, thanked PDP for remembering the people after a peaceful elections that brought the chairman and other exco members to power.

He assured the party of their Royal blessing stating that it was time for political party to remain state fast in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The team visited the palaces of the Osana of Keana, Kean LGA, Dr Abdullahi Amegba-Agbo, Osuko of Obi, Obi LGA, Dangiwa Orume, as we’ll as meeting with the party stakeholders from the respective areas.
