Stop Agonising, Start Organising: Says Bugaje.

…RNP Inaugurates Coordinators

Nigerians have been urged to organise to save the country from collapse as the future of the country is believed to be in total jeopardy.

This was the central message at the inauguration of State and Zonal coordinators of the Rescue Nigeria Project (RNP) in Abuja on Thursday.

The event was graced by dignitaries including former Governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, former and serving senators, technocrats, seasoned politicians and many more.

Dr Usman Bugaje the National coordinator of the RNP in his inaugural address said that the country is in urgent need of a new crop of leaders that would save it from sinking.

“Given the current situation in the country, we cannot afford the same type of leaders produced for us by this faulty processes.

“For it would be like a death sentence for the country.

“That is why we have a compelling reason to create an alternative platform where competent and credible leaders who can fix this country will emerge.” Bugaje said.

The National Coordinator also urged the Zonal and State coordinators to work very hard in identifying competent and credible people to work together to achieve the goals of the RNP.

“The zonal representatives have been carefully chosen to be able to coordinate the various states in the zones.

“Similarly, the interim state coordinators have been carefully selected to recruit members and mobilise for the group, noting that this is in a response from the people.

“All of you are mandated to identify competent and credible people so as to build a team around you and create a collegial leadership system.

“We don’t believe in a one man show as if you are going to be the face of the rescue Nigeria in your respective zones and states.

“You are therefore expected to be the embodiment of our values of ethical leadership, prioritisation of knowledge, selflessness, inclusiveness and courage.” He said.

Speaking further on the values of the group, Bugaje said the core values of the group should be the guarding light for all states and zonal coordinators.

“We have just listened to a short paper on values and we’re very serious about it. Because what actually matters in leadership is values.

“It is what makes that difference in Rwanda and Botswana like Juliana has clearly explained it to us. What make this countries that we envy and if we have extra change, we run for holidays.

“And we feel safe when we get there, isn’t it? We feel comfortable when we get there. What made them what they are that we are heading up to get there?

“Their leadership is driven by certain values. And when leaders fail to meet up to the standard of those values, they are moved. Some of them leave voluntarily and therefore is values that you are going to cherish and exactly what your core mandate would be to wake up the patience of our fellow citizens and remind them of their responsibility to rescue our country from the current trajectory and the recent experience.

“You need to set up teams of young people across your respective zones.” He charged
Participants were drawn from all the 36 states and the FCT, with current geopolitical zones grouped accordingly.
He disclosed that states and zonal programmes have been lined up to commence after the national launch of the group which he said is not an NGO but a political movement.
