Nigeria’s president Ahmed Bola Tinubu today accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following allegations of academic forgery against him.
President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
A statement from the presidential villa signed by Bayo Onanuga stated that the minister resigned today vide a letter in which he thanked the President for giving him the opportunity to serve Nigeria.
Nnaji was quoted to saying that he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu thanked the outgoing Minister for his services to the nation and wished him a future that he desires to accomplish his endeavours.
