The Leadership of Eggon Youth Association (EYA), has denied the purported report that it rejected the endorsement of Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu as the preferred governorship candidate of the Eggon nation for the 2027 election.
President of the assassination, Comrade Friday Haruna Ozigi, while reacting to reports that a group known as Eggon Youth Stakeholders, which he was allegedly part of, had rejected Ombugadu’s endorsement by the Eggon Political Forum, denied the allegation and reaffirmed the association’s loyalty and support for Hon. Ombugadu’s candidacy.
The EYA President who described the report as misleading and did not reflect his position, however admitted that he honoured an invitation from Architect Samson Umaru Kigbu, his elder brother, for a brief discussion, adding that the meeting had nothing to do with the endorsement of Ombugadu, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“I was surprised to read and see my name linked to a position against the endorsement of Rt Hon. Emmanuel David Ombugadu. The meeting I attended had nothing to do with endorsing or rejecting the decision of the Eggon Political Forum,” Comrade Ozigi declared.
The EYA president, noted that the endorsement of Ombugadu by the Eggon Political Forum followed extensive consultations with his office, EYA members, and other critical Eggon stakeholders within and outside the state.
He therefore urged the general public, particularly Eggon sons and daughters, to disregard any claim that he has withdrawn his support for Rt Hon Emmanuel Ombugadu.
While reaffirming his total loyalty and support for Ombugadu’s endorsement remains firm and unchanged, comrade Ozigi assured of the association’s firm and unchanged commitment to Obugadu’s candidature.
He then called for unity among Eggon youths, appealed to Architect Kigbu to avoid actions capable of creating confusion and disunity within the Eggon community.
