Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has called on Christians and other Nigerians
to imbibe the vertues of love, peace, hope, unity, and sacrifice that Christmas rekindles in order to build a more egalitarian society and prosperous Nigeria.
The Speaker, who represents Kokona West constituency made the call in his Christmas message at ECWA Goodnews Church, Garaku, Kokona LGA today.
He said that if Nigerians demonstrated true love to one another, the country will be better for it.
According to him, Let us all remember that it is a time to spread the love of Christ with family, friends, neighbours and the less privileged ones in the society.
” Let’s Love continue to be our focus point. This is the time to show love to our neighbours.
“let’s us spread love to our neighbours and remember the underprivileged as we celebrate Christmas.
“I want to urge all of us to imbibe the spirit of love, unity, peace, assist one another and all other good attributes of Jesus Christ for the betterment of our country.
“The birth of Jesus Christ signifies the love of God for mankind, triumph of good over evil and victory of light over darkness” he said.
The Speaker thanked God for seeing him through in the last one year as the Speaker of the state legislature.
“I want to appreciate the church for your prayers and support that you have been giving to me and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
“His Excellency, Engr A A Sule has done much for the people of Kokona LGA and other LGAs.
“In the 2025 budget, Gov. Sule has planned to do a lot of projects for the people of Kokona LGA and other LGAs.
“Let’s continue to give the Governor our maximum support and cooperation to succeed and to enable us enjoy more dividends of democracy” he said.
The Speaker appealed to the people of Kokona LGA and other citizens to continue to remain united and co-exist peacefully.
Rev. Bitrus Kaya, the Reverend in-charge of ECWA Goodnews Church, Garaku, Kokona LGA while presiding over the Christmas Service quoted John 13:34 and other verses in the Holy Bible, emphasized on the need for Christians and other Nigerians to continue to show love to one another irrespective of their affiliations.
“Love your neighbour as yourself, your neighbour can be a traditionalist or Muslim, Love one another for the peace and development of the country” he said.
He also urged Christians to forgive, shun hatred and other negative acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
“Let’s forgive one another and avoid hatred and evil acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God” he said.
The Religion Leader appreciated the good leadership style of the Speaker, saying that his one year in office was eventful and successful.
“I want to appreciate the Speaker for the support that you have given to the Church and for the employment of some of our people among other projects.
“I want to appeal for more employment of our youths” he said.
He prayed God to continue to give the Speaker good and sound health.
It would be reported that the Christmas Service featured special prayers for the Speaker and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed and the State at large.
