Report reaching TMSNEWS has it that the Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Hon Mudashiru Obasa.
According to our correspondent, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Lasbat Meranda has been elected to replace the impeached speaker, while the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed has also been elected as the Deputy Speaker.
TMSnews gathered that Obasa, who became Speaker of the Lagos State House since June 2015 with the commencement of the administration of the former Governor Ambode, was impeached on Monday, January 13, 2025 over alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office.
