The fallout of the Saturday’s tumultuous outting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship campaign council to Obi could be seen by the open endorsement by key stakeholders, the over 100 motorcade and strong messages rolled out at the event.
The endorsement by the PDP critical key stakeholders and indeed, the huge turn out by their supporters including the large number of APC members have changed the narrative.
Eyewitness account says that the Central Primary School Obi had witnessed the largest ever political event in recent times. Indeed, Obi and it’s environ was entertained by the PDP music, messages and a beautiful motorcade.
Tubers of yams gift from the local women to the PDP governorship candidate, Rt Hon Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu and his Deputy, Hon Yahaya Usman Ohinoyi made the campaign a unique show.
The over 100 repentant APC faithfuls openly burnt down their evil invested brooms, in exchange for a rejigged, refurbished and united bigger umbrella to equip themselves for the next gubernatorial election.
Dozens of doubting Thomases who until Saturday January 7th, 2023 were awashed with fake news that the PDP was going into the Governorship election without it’s key strikers have also changed the positions.
The top strikers of the PDP team including Sen Suleiman Asorya Adokwe, ex Deputy Governor John Mike Abdul, Ex PDP state Chairman, Dr. Yunana Iliya, the second runner up to Ombugadu at the PDP governorship primary, Maj Gen Nuhu Bala Angbazo (rtd), ex PDP state Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Oyanki, and others have openly doused off the fake news by fully showing committment to the campaign.
Both Sen Adokwe, Dr Mike Abdul, Dr Yunana Iliya and Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo(rtd), all addressed the rally in Obi and some other places visited before.
Sen Adokwe, who is a ranking member of the PDP Board of Trustees from Nasarawa state physically attended the rally inspite lost of a close relation same day.
He cleared doubts on the unfounded rumour, reassuring both Ombugadu and the PDP family of his unflinching support for the next Governorship election.
He said as a stakeholder who had benefitted thrice as a senator under the PDP, he is committed to giving back in multifolds to a party that made him fame.
He also urged his supporters to vote all the PDP’s candidates in the next general elections.
One by one, Dr Mike Abdul, Dr Yunana Iliya, Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo (rtd) and Alhaji Adamu Oyanki have endorsed Dr Ombugadu and all the PDP candidates.
In fact, report from Shendam Road, Lafia has it that some leaders of the outgoing APC from Obi LGA were summoned to Lafia Sunday morning to review the APC game plan following the success of the PDP outting.
The story line has now changed.
The PDP success story is fast changing the narrative in the southern senatorial zone of Nasarawa state since the commencement of the campaign last November, 2022.
The APC is catching cold as the oratory prowess of the DG of Ombugadu’s governorship campaign council, Hon Labaran Maku has continued to exposed the inefficiencies of the one- tenure-regime of Gov Abdullahi Alhaji Sule.
Maku, a former Minister of Information under ex President Goodluck Jonathan, has exposed how hundreds of millions of state funds are being wasted, misappropriated in the name security vote while insecurity has continued to increase in the state.
