The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has commended Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for identifying with and attending the inauguration of the newly appointed National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Joash Amupitan, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chief Omale noted that Governor Alia has shown rare insight into progressive leadership and competency, which Professor Amupitan epitomizes.
He commended President Tinubu’s commitment to free, fair, and credible elections.
Chief Omale praised Professor Amupitan’s competence, merit, and background as a constitutional law expert and lawyer.
The Benue APC State chairman who commends the nomination of Professor Joash Amupitan by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on grounds of competence and merit, saying his background as a revered constitutional law expert and his diligent career as a lawyer of many years, will be brought to bare on his new job.
He expressed belief that the new INEC Chairman has the deep sense of justice, equity, and fairness needed to administer his office effectively.
Omale also commended Amupitan’s performance during his confirmation screening and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver credible future elections.
He called on all election stakeholders, security agencies, political parties, and their candidates, as well as the electorate, to abide by INEC guidelines in support of the new National Chairman.
He reiterated the APC’s support for Governor Alia’s identification with President Tinubu’s reform agenda, aimed at promoting credible election practices in Nigeria.
