Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Silas Agara, has announced his resignation as the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to pursue a bye-election for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat.
Agara made the announcement during a birthday reception hosted by the Mada Progressive Comrades Forum, celebrating his 54 birthday at his residence in Akwanga on Saturday.
The event was filled with joy and camaraderie, with friends, relatives, and political allies gathering to honor Agara, not only for his birthday but for his contributions to the development of the state and touching life of many.
The gathering left no. one in doubt that Mr Silas Agara is recognized as a results-oriented leader committed to uplifting others.
Several speakers took to the podium, lauding the celebrant’s integrity and dedication to public service, just as prayers were offered for his continued success and impact in the coming year.
During the celebration, political discussions emerged, with Comrade Ibrahim Maiyanga, a leader within the forum, highlighting the political advantages the Christian community in Nigeria achieved under the current Muslim-Muslim ticket of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, given assurance of the forum’s support for Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
Speaking at the occasion, Agara expressed deep gratitude to the organizers for their thoughtful recognition.
He noted that the gathering celebrated not just his personal milestone but also the opportunities provided by President Tinubu to further the administration’s renewed hope agenda.
“As Nasarawa North Senatorial district preparing for the candidate that will fill the vacuum created for the Senatorial seat after the demised of late Senator Godiya Akwanshiki, I hereby announced my decision to resign from the NDE”.
Agara stated that he has conducted careful deliberation and consultations to prepare for his candidacy in the upcoming bye-election for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat.
