#BuhariMustGo: Protest Hits Abuja Airport Road.

Dissatisfied youths in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday staged a protest along the Shehu Musa Yar’ Adua Airport Road in Abuja. The protest which is against insecurity and bad governance is tag #BuhariMustGo.

Findings revealed that the protesters took their campaign to Dantata Bridge along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport which serves as a major entrance and exit to the capital city as early as 5:00am chanting #BuhariMustGo.

They barricaded the expressway with bonfire preventing vehicular movement along the road.

A video seen on the social media showed some of the protesters saying they could not even burn a tyre because there was no fuel to do so, which was a veiled reference to how Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol had increased under the government of Buhari from N87 to about N160.

The protesters were seen chanting: “Se democracy be this, se democracy be this, people dey die like flies, se democracy be this (Is this a democracy? People are dying like flies, is this democracy?

It could be recalled that on June 12, the protesters were violently dispersed by a combined armed security operatives at Gudu junction with teargas causing confusion in the area.

The group is demanding an end to insecurity, bad governance, corruption, impunity, and reversal of suspension on Twitter among others.

The #BuhariMustGo campaign, which has drawn attention from different parts of the countries with protests calling for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

However, security operatives have since cleared the road to allow free flow of traffic.
