Following the unceremonious resignation of seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the Peoples’ Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDPGF) who received with regrets and sadness these recent rumblings in the Party, have called on all members of the party and indeed all stakeholders to remain calm in the face of the developments.
The forum stated this in a press release signed by the Chairman, Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR.
Tambuwal in the release, pleaded with all aggrieved persons and those with the interest of the PDP at heart to keep their gun powder dry, as efforts are being made in consultation with members of the PDP Board of Trustees and other stakeholders to resolve all contending issues.
Meanwhile, the Forum of PDP State Chairmen in a release signed by its Publicity Secretary Hon Francis O Orogu, have called on all those who resigned to have a rethink and embrace dialogue, as an alternative to solving the problems they feel are mitigating against the progress of the Party.
Orogu who also doubles as the Nasarawa state PDP chairman, called on the NWC to close ranks and put in place an all-inclusive plan of action for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming National Convention, which is the only legally authorized platform for electing National Officers of the Party.
Some of the officers who resigned include; Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Auditor, Deputy Woman Leader, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Deputy National Legal Adviser.
