Terrorists carrying out attacks on communities and government facilities in the North Western state of Kaduna have claimed that their campaign of terror in the state is due to what they called governor El-rifai’s loquaciousness against them.
This was revealed by a relative to two of the passengers abducted from the Kaduna-bound who spoke to reporters in Kaduna on Friday.
The relation, Dr. Abdulkarim Atta, said the abductors have reached out to him 11 times, and told him that “they had their targets” in ill-fated train.
He said the terrorist told him that it was unfortunate that other people were taken away by them.
Atta, whose 85-year-old mother and sister are among the kidnapped, said that he was allowed by the bandits to talk to his aged mother and sister before the release of the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Alwan Ali-Hassan.
He added that the gunmen told him in the course of their discussion that “the state governor, (Malam Nasir El-Rufai) has been running his mouth and that was why they came to his doorstep and that this is just the beginning. That they would go further than this.”
Governor El-rufai had in recent times spoken tough against the activities of terrorists in the state, this didn’t go down well with the terrorists who have unleashed countless terror attacks on civilian and military targets in the state.
