Eyewitness newspaper honours former DG NOA Mike Omeri, Gov. A. A Sule

Former Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr. Mike Omeri has added another feather to his cap when the Eyewitness Newspaper honoured him along with others, including Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State as of positive change” Dr. Omeri, who was represented by Barr. Iliya Awuna Ashokpa, along with several others, thanked the organisers for finding him worthy of the honoured.

Commebting in the award, Barrister Ashokpa said that Dr. Omeri is one of the – gentleman around who has left traces of service in the various National oddices he has held beginning from his days as Press Secretary to Molitary Administrator of Plateau to being among the very firstbsets of Commissioners that laid the foundations of the new Nasarawa State adding that he has no second to himself most often.

Ashokpa restated that Dr. Omeri believes in the concept of dignity in labour, is humble and unassuming, and that such dispositions are what we need to move the nation forward.

The award took place on Thursday, 11th July 2024, at the Ta’al Conference Hotel Lafia and was graced by the governor who himself was being honoured.

 

Barrister Illiya further recalled the numerous programmes and projects accomplished when Omeri was Commissioner in the state and listed them to include construction of the Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre, establishment of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, NBS, construction of the government house, nasara estate, renovation of workers, Specialist Hispital, initiation of 5 man housing units in Keana, Toto LG, purchase of Abdullahi Adamu estate from the federal government among several others. Barrister Ashokpa was accompanied to receive the award on behalf of Dr. Omeri by Alh. Isa wakwa (Nasarawa South PDP Zonal Chairman), Hon. A.A Davidson, Mr. Mohammed Okpari and Hon. Isa Ja’afar Otaki, among others.

The event was well attended.
