Factional leadership Crisis in PDP will soon be thing of the past – Gbenga Olawepo

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic party PDP, Doctor Gbenga Olawepo Hashim Friday expressed optimism that the current crisis, litigations filed by a faction of the party will soon be resolved

Doctor Gbenga Hashim disclosed this in an interview with Journalists on the sideline of his visit ahead of religious convention in lafia Nasarawa state.

The Frontline Chieftain of the opposition peoples Democratic party, explained that discussions were already on top gear with both principal actors for an out of court settlement to avoid a protracted legal battle that may end up at the supreme court which he said will not augur well for the party.

“As the general election draws nearer, it is expedient for the PDP to resolve all internal conflicts to ensure progress of the party and for the interest and protection of Nigeria’s democracy”, Chief Gbenga stated.

Doctor Gbenga Hashim who is a founding member of the PDP, observed that Nigeria’s democracy can only be meaningful with robust and competitive opposition political parties,noting that Nigeria cannot be a one party state.

“The recent gale of defections of some PDP Governors to the ruling APC was due to poor performance in their various states and fear of anti graft agencies”.

Doctor Gbenga Hashim stated that the 2027 general election will be a case of electorates against political parties stressing that citizens are now more aware of their rights and the power they possess during elections.

In his welcome address, State Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Bako , thanked the presidential aspirant for finding Nasarawa State worthy amongst other states to visit.

Bako assured the aspirant that Nasarawa State is a home of PDP, adding that the state remained a deciding factor in the political arrangements.

“We remain a deciding link in the decision making politically in Nigeria. We therefore reaffirm our standing as the strong hole of PDP in the country”, the party boss declared

According to the the opposition peoples Democratic party Chairman, PDP would spring surprises in 2027 despite the challenges currently confronting the party.
